Pakistan becomes first team to play 200 T20Is

Pakistan Cricket Team has become the first side to reach the 200 T20Is landmarks as it stands in the fourth T20I against England. The men in green kick-started their venture in the format in 2006 and have come this far to be the first team to play 200 T20Is.

The ongoing seven-match T20I series between Pakistan and England marks history for Pakistan, reckoning the 200th T20I record. Three Lions are for the first time in the realm in 17 years, and their return here gathers a couple of other records alongside a successful route towards the revival of international cricket.

Notably, India are second on the list to play the most number of T20Is (181), while West Indies have played 171 matches up till date. Pakistan played their first-ever T20I against England in Bristol in 2006 and are reaching the 200 T20Is landmark against the same rival. In 17 years of history, the green team has managed to win a T20 World Cup once in 2009, defeating Sri Lanka in the final.

Alongside this, they have a list of notable records in the format, such as 11 consecutive T20I series wins. Till their encounter in Asia Cup 2022 final against Sri Lanka, they have 121 victories, 70 defeats, two ties and five no results for an overall winning percentage of 63.14.

To celebrate the feat, the men in green will be looking to end Pak vs Eng 4th T20I on a winning note. As of now, the guests lead the series by 2-1, with five more games to go.
