Hasan Ali was supposed to be under hot waters after he dropped Matthew Wade – a golden chance for Pakistan to be in the ICC T20 World Cup 2021. But, the scene portrays the big hearts of Pakistanis they own, and the respect that has for their national heroes.
No doubt, there have been bashing from corners of the world but the support system is way larger than that. The catch that slipped out of Hasan’s hands, is termed as the turning point of the Pak vs Aus semifinal.
Notably, on the third ball of the 19th over by Shaheen Shah Afridi, Hasan, on the deep mid-wicket dropped Matthew Wade who was in form of hitting for the boundaries. The wicketkeeping batter then hit the bowler for three consecutive sixes to finish the game kicking the green shirts out of the contest.
Shoaib Malik, the veteran player, came to the rescue of Hasan’s emotions at that moment, who looked bursting out of sadness. Who wants to drop the catch on purpose? Query the people showing love for the star who was a player of the tournament in Champions Trophy 2017.
A day before the Pak vs Aus semifinal went underway, a group of anchors queried Babar Azam if Hasan will be dropped from the squad ahead of the all-important clash. Azam, backing the quick bowler, added that he is the main of the bowling line-up and can not even think about eliminating him.
After the broken hearts, on losing to Australia, met in the dressing room, Azam cleared that nobody will raise fingers on anyone for the defeat. He says they should stay united as a team rather than playing the blame game.
Supportive tweets for Hasan Ali after he dropped Matthew Wade:
Not only Pakistanis, but the whole world stands united with Hasan Ali terming him a hero. Every player goes through bad times and the world does not end here. There is a lot of cricket to go yet and the champ will bounce back soon – Social media.
.@RealHa55an you are a champion. The entire team is with you. To all the fans, everyone goes through tough times, we are all human beings capable of errors. Remember the joy Hasan has given you, don’t do personal attacks please. He is Pakistan’s match-winner. #WeStandWithHasanAli pic.twitter.com/g9UzkGHPim

Constructive criticism is welcome, welcome even by the players but personal attacks are not. @RealHa55an is the highest international wicket-taker of the year, he was a champion, is a champion & will bounce back like a champion. Chin up Hasni. #WeStandWithHasanAli

While we're making fun of Shaheen and Hasan Ali for yesterday's loss, let's not forget the contribution of The Statpadder Supreme, for his glorious innings of 39 off 34 which went at 114 SR when the rest of the match went at 146.??#T20WorldCup21

May I request so – called cricket lovers to stop abusing Hassan Ali. No pace bowler in the world has performed as consistently as he has to win matches in all 3 formats for his country in past one season. It's absolutely nonsense to abuse such a performer.

This man was good enough to be out there representing his country in a World Cup.
He worked his arse off to get back into the team after injury.
He has my total respect. pic.twitter.com/3TGq9y4aFU

Malik went to Hasan Ali after he dropped the catch and reassured him. Even the commentators picked up on it and reiterated that no one drops catches on purpose and need I remind you all of how many catches of our players the Australians dropped ? It was just bad timing.
