Unchanged Pakistan T20 World Cup squad to reach UAE on 15 October

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has unveiled the schedule for the T20 World Cup squad’s departure to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as the event kick starts on 17th October.

The men in green will fly via chartered flights to the venue on 15th October. Players named in the World Cup squad, who currently are part of the National T20 Cup, will fly directly from one bubble to another after Pakistan’s domestic tournament ends up.

On the other hand, the rest of the members including support staff will go under mandatory quarantine of seven days at a local hotel in Lahore on 8th October.

Vernon Philander, who was appointed as bowling consultant of the team for the big event, will reach Pakistan on 7th October and will fly to the UAE alongside the crew. Whereas, the batting consultant, Matthew Hayden, will directly reach the Arab nation.

Moreover, the board has allowed players’ families to travel with them for the tournament as they have been away already due to the National T20 Cup. It is heard that Imad Wasim and Shaheen Shah Afridi already have eliminated themselves from the event for this reason.

Pakistan will begin their T20 World Cup 2021 journey on 24th October versus their arch-rivals, India. Notably, the group stage starts on 17th October, whereas, the Super 12 round is set to be played on 23rd October. The event will be coiled up among UAE, Oman venues.
