Pakistan register records with historic win over Hong Kong

Pakistan register highest-ever defend in T20Is

Pakistan’s bowlers got all ten wickets of Hong Kong’s batters on a below-average score of 38. As a result, they have fixed their place in the Super 4 stage of Asia Cup 2022. Notably, they are the last side to enter the Asia Cup 2022 Super 4. Earlier, Afghanistan, India, and Sri Lanka made their slots, respectively.

Despite late entry in the second round, Babar Azam and his men made sure to join the last blank spot with class, registering one of the massive triumphs in the event’s history. They now have the record of the biggest-ever margin of successful defence in their T20Is history. Not only this, but for the first time in 70 years, Pakistan have bowled out opposition in 64 balls or less.

Azam and co scored 193 runs impressively on the loss of two wickets. In the second inning of the match, the bowlers surprised the watchers with terrific bowling spells. Surprisingly, Hong Kong’s skipper Nizakat Khan was the highest run-scorer from his side, making eight runs.

Shadab Khan’s four-wicket-haul, Mohammad Nawaz’s three-wicket-haul, two wickets of Naseem Shah, and one for Shahnawaz Dahani own the major credit. None of these four bowlers had sustained an economy over 3.50. Pacer Haris Rauf, who bowled a single over, yielded six runs on his turn.

Nizakat Khan’s batters did not get a chance to exceed 38. Nevertheless, they did all in their power versus India in their last Group Stage match. Rohit Sharma’s batsmen scored 192, and in their reply, the red men reached 152 as the batters shattered the best products of the world’s best Indian Premier League.

Pakistan will now encounter India in their match of the Asia Cup 2022 Super 4. The Pak vs Ind is scheduled for Sunday, 4th September. The top two teams of the Super 4 will reach the final, all set to be played on September 11th.
