Pakistan’s bowlers’ heroics restrict Zimbabwe to 130

Bowlers' heroics restrict Zimbabwe to 130

Following the heroics of Mohammad Wasim Jnr, Haris Rauf, and Shadab Khan, Zimbabwe batters are restricted to 130 at Optus Stadium, as they opted to bat first on winning the toss.

Although they put a solid beginning with one down, with the courtesy of green bowlers, they started departing at regular intervals. On the loss of eight wickets, Zimbabwe have managed a target of 131 runs needing from 120 balls for the Babar Azam-led team.

Haris, the BBL star, surely has an idea of how Australian pitches favour the bowlers. He conceded only 12 runs from four overs and plucked a wicket. Shadab, the base leg spinner of the team, managed a three-wicket haul at a splendid economy of 5.75, whereas Wasim was the star of the show with four wickets whilst yielding only 24 runs.

As far as Zimbabwe’s batting is concerned, middle-order batter Sean Williams turned out to be the top scorer with 31 runs from 28 balls. Openers Wesley Madhevere and Craig Ervine somehow put a solid beginning with 17 and 19 runs, respectively. Later, Ryan Burl’s ten and Bradly Neil Evans’ 19 helped them surpass 120s to acknowledge a decent-looking score on the board.

Pakistani batters are now geared up to chase 131 runs from 120 balls. However, it will not be a piece of cake on the bowl-supportive pitch.
