The upcoming home series between Pakistan and New Zealand is set to undergo a slight schedule change, according to Najam Sethi, the PCB management committee chairman. The series was originally slated to feature five T20Is and five ODIs to be played in Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi from April 13 to May 7. However, due to the general elections in Punjab on April 30, there will be some modifications to the original schedule.
Sethi assured fans that the New Zealand series will take place on its original schedule, but with a slight alteration. The original schedule had the series starting in Karachi and then moving to Lahore and Rawalpindi. However, the change in schedule will affect the tour’s initial phase, and details of the new schedule will be announced by the PCB next week.
Schedule without Slight Schedule Change for Pak vs NZ series
The initial schedule had the first T20I on April 13, to be played at the National Bank Cricket Arena in Karachi, followed by the second and third T20Is on April 15 and 16, respectively, also in Karachi. The fourth T20I was scheduled for April 19, back at the National Bank Cricket Arena. The series would then move to Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium for the final T20I on April 23, followed by five ODIs on April 26, 28, and May 1, 4, and 7, all at the same venue.
While the PCB has not disclosed any details of the revised schedule yet, it is expected that the matches in Karachi could be moved to Rawalpindi or Lahore. The New Zealand series marks the return of international cricket to Pakistan, and fans are eagerly anticipating this high-profile event. With both teams boasting several talented players, the series promises to be a thrilling and closely contested affair.
