The Chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Management Committee, Najam Sethi, has made an appeal to the Chief Minister (CM) of Punjab, Mohsin Naqvi, regarding the safety of cricket fans attending the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 8 final at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on March 19th. This appeal comes after the announcement of a political gathering at Minar-e-Pakistan in Lahore on the same day by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman, Imran Khan.
In a tweet, Sethi urged the Punjab government to ensure the safety and security of the 25,000 fans attending the PSL final at the stadium, as well as the smooth flow of traffic for the people’s easy access to the event. He also highlighted the importance of the PSL final, being Pakistan’s finest showcase, which will be witnessed by millions of people around the world.
The PSL Season 8 final is scheduled for March 19th at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, with Lahore Qalandars taking on Multan Sultans in the qualifier phase, followed by Peshawar Zalmi and Islamabad United facing off in the first eliminator on March 16th. The losing team of the qualifier will then play against the winner of the first eliminator in the second elimination match on March 17th. The final of this mega event will take place on March 19th after a day’s gap. Lahore Qalandars, the table-toppers, will aim to defend their PSL title and become the first-ever team to do so.
