PCB ignores Haris Sohail despite Babar Azam's wish

Pakistan’s left-handed cricketer Haris Sohail has been seen nowhere around as he lastly represented the nation versus New Zealand in a Test match at Christchurch, dating from 3-6 January. The reports state that the player has been ignored by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) despite skipper Babar Azam’s wish to get him on the panel.

The PCB named a 60-player list who have been invited for conditioning camp at the National High-Performance Center (NHPC) in two groups. However, Haris, the middle-order batter is not part of the camp.

The first group of 27 cricketers will attend the camp from 15-25 May, while the second group comprising 34 cricketers will participate in the camp from 26 May to 10 June. Players featuring in the English County Championship have been exempted from these camps.

Haris Rauf nowhere in PCB’s plans

It has been heard that the captain has been pondering over the ideas to settle middle-order issues in ODIs and he stated that Haris can be a great fix for the woes. However, if the reports are true, Babar’s choice has been neglected, which has also left Sohail shocked over the maltreatment from the board.

As far as ODIs and T20I are concerned, Haris was last seen in the formats versus Zimbabwe at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium in October 2020, and versus Australia at Perth Ground in November 2019 respectively.

Despite the fact that he has been sidelined from the current plans, the fans are looking to see him bounce back in the international circuit, paving his way for the upcoming 50-over World Cup in India.
