PCB names new batting coach

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to appoint Mohammad Yousuf as the permanent batting coach of the national team. The reports state that he has been freed from the National High-Performance Center coaching post and will serve the duty in the national fold.

Notably, the new appointment for the coach in replacement of Yousuf for the NHPC will be announced soon. Moreover, the board will also keep Australia’s Matthew Hayden as the batting consultant for the T20 World Cup 2022.

Hayden was due to coach the national team, but according to the head coach Saqlain Mushtaq, he was chosen as Australia’s temporary coach for the Pak vs Aus series.

Currently, Yousuf is with Pakistan Cricket Team in Sri Lanka for the two-match Test series. As far as Pak vs SL 1st test is concerned. Pakistan secured a historic win in Galle and will undergo the second match on 24th July.

As a result of the victory in the first match, Pakistan have climbed up to the third spot with a winning per cent of 58.33 and 56 points. It polishes Pakistan’s chances to qualify for the World Test Championship 21-23 final.
