PSL 6: Good news for the fans

PCB-NCOC to confirm PSL 6 crowd this week

PCB-NCOC to confirm PSL 6 crowd this week

The digital platforms bloomed with the PSL 6 crowd allowances news last month. To discuss the scenario, a meeting has been scheduled this Thursday as the National Command Operation Center (NCOC) and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will come face to face to discuss the health and safety rules for the crowd.

After the COVID outspread in early 2020, a few of the matches, including the playoffs and final, were hosted behind closed doors. The tournament was shattered for a similar reason as the management decided to move it to late 2020.

However, there were many talks about allowing 20 to 40 % of people in the stadiums. Many resources have already confirmed that but the matter will be revised, and stakeholders’ preferences are to be discussed in the meeting as well.

“We had a brief meeting with NCOC today and expect a reply on our request on Thursday,” PCB’s CEO Wasim Khan told this correspondent.

It will be a massive success for Pakistan to organize the league within the country despite COVID fears and allow the spectators. Probably, crowd-less matches were not even enjoyed by the fans, and they were awaited for the allowance.

However, Karachi’s National Stadium, along with Lahore’s Gadaffi Stadium, have the hosting authorities keep the venue line truncated, avoiding any health risks.

The first match of the PSL 2021 is to be played between the current title defenders Karachi Kings and the Quetta Gladiators on 20th February at National Stadium Karachi. Click here to see the schedule.
