PCB not to take any further legal action against Kamran Akmal

Pakistan’s defeat against England in the final showdown of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 has let multiple ex-Pakistani cricketers lash on the team. Many of them have heavily criticized not only the team but also the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Mr Ramiz Raja.

The chairman, taking note of all the critics, has alarmed the PCB legal team to keep an eye on the Youtube channels and social media posts of all cricketers who have been speaking things to defame Pakistan Cricket.

Those, who have uttered defaming words for Pakistan Cricket, have been sent a legal notice by the board. Among many names, the reporters have also revealed that wicketkeeping batter Akmal is one of them.

A reliable source said,

“Some of them clearly cross the line while criticising the team, management, board and chairman, and Ramiz has made it clear he is not going to tolerate anyone running down or defaming Pakistan cricket anymore,”

The source further said that it has no idea about the actual remarks Kamran made, but his comments were found offensive by Raja.

“I don’t know exactly what charges they have made against Kamran, but apparently, the legal notice has been sent because the chairman feels Kamran made defamatory, false and offensive comments in the media about him,”

However, it is said that the PCB will not be dragging the legal matter further, specifically with Akmal.

According to a source on Twitter,

According to sources, the PCB has had exchanges with Kamran Akmal regarding his comments about the Board. However, following discussions, the PCB will not be pursuing the legal threats any further.
