This player will be a threat to India, reveals Misbah ul Haq

Pakistan’s former head coach, Misbah ul Haq believes Fakhar Zaman can be a threatening player versus India as the two teams are set to meet in their ICC T20 World Cup 2021 opener on 24th October at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

Misbah is clueless and does not understand the reason behind Fakhar’s elimination from Pakistan’s 15-man squad initially. Notably, the power-hitter was placed among the traveling reserves and was later on grouped in the main squad.

“I didn’t understand why Fakhar was excluded from the initial squad despite his good recent form. He performed in South Africa and was in good touch,”

He urges that Fakhar’s inclusion has stable the green shirts’ playing crew. As Babar Azam and co have played two warm-up matches versus the West Indies and South Africa respectively, his batting has been witnessed fruitful twice consecutively.

He added 46 off 24 versus the Kieron Pollard-led chaps and stayed not out. Whereas, whilst encountering Temba Bavuma’s Proteas, he smashed 52 from 28 balls but was retired out, unfortunately.

Misbah finds the batter’s record phenomenal with improved form. He says the 31-year old can be threatening versus the opponents, especially against India.

“His inclusion made Pakistan’s squad strong as he can bat at the top-order and he proved it in warm-up matches. He is an X-Factor for Pakistan in T20 World Cup, especially in the match against India as he has a good record against them including that Champions Trophy final’s hundred,”
