PSL 2021: Hasan-less Zalmi search for second title

Peshawar Zalmi

The Pakistan Super League (PSL 2021) is just a month ahead and the preparations are already going on. With the HBL PSL draft being done, the schedule has also been on-screened. Each team has made sure to choose the full-strength squad to clinch the HBL PSL 6 title with their deliverances.

Preview and Analysis:

Peshawar Zalmi is three times finalists and won only one title; in 2017. That winning title moment will forever be remembered. It was the first time a PSL match, which was the final, was played in Pakistan.

The final was played between Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmi. Quetta was coming without their foreign players due to security issues, while Peshawar managed to bring their star players, including captain Daren Sammy. Daren Sammy led his side to their maiden PSL title, which was forever be remembered.

Peshawar Zalmi played three consecutive finals from 2017 to 2019. They were one of the best teams playing in that period. But then 2020, they just qualified for the playoffs, only to be knocked out by the inspiring Lahore Qalandars in the eliminator.

This time, the Zalmis will be looking to go back to their winning ways. For the first time, Zalmi will be without their star performer Hasan Ali. But they have picked some star-studded performers such as South Africa’s middle-order hitter David Miller, Afghanistan’s Mujeeb Rehman, and England’s Liam Livingstone.
