The sixth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 2021) is now no more away. The wait ends as the inaugural match of the season will be played between the current title defenders Karachi Kings and Quetta Gladiators at National Stadium Karachi on 20th February.
Which team will get the trophy? The six teams are preparing their best to deliver in the tournament stage games to get a ticket for the playoffs and then the final. But upon analysis, Karachi Kings, Quetta Gladiators, and Lahore Qalandars look powerful sides to clinch the trophies.
How does the trophy look like? Back in 2020, it was decided that the trophy will not be changed and will stay the same in the upcoming editions of PSL. Hence, the trophy that Karachi lifted last season, will be handed over to this time PSL champion as well.
PSL 2021 trophy unveiled
The trophy was designed by UK-based Ottewill Silversmiths. It has a star and crescent representing Pakistan along with Multi-colors striped-enamel representing the country’s culture. The 65 cm long trophy weighs 8 kgs.
The Silversmith has a vast trophy-based portfolio and also designed the ICC Champions Trophy in 2017. Notably, the name of the winners will be engraved on the trophy every year.
As Kings won the last season, they were obliged to keep the trophy for a year and that ought to be returned before the next edition of PSL begins – same like it happens in FIFA awards.
