Sohaib Maqsood, a promising Pakistani player, is often compared to the former cricketer, Inzamam ul Haq, for his fine strokes and tall frame. Despite being missing on the international field since 2016, he has yet once again showcased an appealing cricket season scoring a pile of runs in the Pakistan Super League (PSL 6).

Maqsood emerged as an off-spin bowler in his primary career but a serious back injury kept him away from the game for the next three years. Later, he bounced back in 2007 as a mid-order handy batsman but unfortunately got struck by an ankle injury. Despite being marsh down as a consequence of some poor performances, he once again made a revival assembling 951 runs and turning the figure to 1020 in the subsequent period.

The batter kept on performing in the List-A cricket gathering 988 runs at an average of 78. Glitching the domestic cricket, he has stayed a part of multiple teams along with representing Lahore Qalandars, Peshawar Zalmi, and Multan Sultans in the HBL PSL.

Being a part of Sultans in the ongoing season, he is the third-highest run-getter of the extravaganza adding 363 runs playing 11 matches at an average of 40.33 striking 152.52. Maqsood registered his best performance versus Peshawar Zalmi scoring 61 runs off 31 balls. His performance has solely been improved since he has entirely focused on white-ball cricket. The batsman has assembled four fifties to pile up the mentioned runs in 11 innings. His PSL 6 numerics count 33 fours and 19 sixes.

He revealed that his form has been improved toiling alongside the Sultan’s skipper and spending much of his hours at the National High-Performance Center (NHPC) under experienced coaches. He understands that the ‘main reason’ behind his reform is his cerebrum’s locus undividedly on the limited-over cricket.

Aiming to add additional runs during the powerplay, the mid-order aggressive batter is presumptuous of showing uniform performances ahead to get his name back on the national side. He is optimistic to get a prospect in Pakistan’s limited-over cricket and may eye on reentering the squad ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 scheduled later this year.
