PSL: Most wicket Takers in the PowerPlay

To dominate early in the powerplay is every captain’s dream for their bowlers in a T20 match. The same is the case in Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Today, we take a look at the top wicket-takers inside the powerplay of PSL and who’s leading with how many wickets.

PSL: Most wickets in the PowerPlay

1. Hasan Ali – 34

Hasan Ali, who usually begins with the new ball in the PSL, does a great job early on in the innings. He bowls at a good line and length with a bit of help with a swing, allowing him to either catch the opposition’s outside edge or dismissed them via bowled and LBW.

2. Mohammad Irfan – 26

Tall, lanky Mohammad Irfan comes at second spot in this list. With his height that generates extra bounce during the innings, he can make an awkward bounce that causes troubles for the batsman, allowing them to mostly play poor shots.

3. Mohammad Nawaz – 20

Quetta Gladiator’s Mohammad Nawaz opens the bowling at most and gets the most successful results. allowing him to become one of the best spin openers in the innings. His excellent line bowling gives him the chance to dismiss the batsman, most of the balls skidding on to them.

4. Shaheen Afridi – 20

Lahore Qalandar’s Shaheen Afridi, with the new ball in hand, gets his team a great start with the ball swinging back into the right-hand batsman (and vice versa to lefties) and making them give their wickets away. He is joint third in the list.

5. Samit Patel – 20

It’s a rather surprise in the list, but Samit Patel in the joint third in the list of having 20 wickets inside the powerplay. He did usually bowl in overs five and six and picked up some great wickets in PSL.
