Karachi Kings and Multan Sultans took on each other ninth match of HBL PSL 2021.

Karachi Kings scored a brilliant 193 in their last game, with a century from Sharjeel and fifty from Babar Azam. But the bowlers let them down with free runs flown to Islamabad United, who chased the target down with ease.

Multan Sultans meanwhile won their first game against Lahore Qalandars and were in high confidence when they took on defending champions Karachi Kings.

As the trend was going, Karachi Kings won the toss and chose to bowl first in which many decided the outcome of the match. Karachi Kings chased down Multan Sultan’s total of 193 by seven wickets courtesy of Babar Azam’s brilliant innings of 90 not out.

1. Babar Azam’s classy innings

The man who guided Karachi Kings to their second win in three matches, Babar Azam scored his PSL best of 90* from 60 balls. He used to get criticized for not finishing his matches off. But for this game, he played a vital knock that help his side to win. This was also his second straight fifty in this PSL season.

2. Chris Lynn found form

Chris Lynn’s three innings read 1, 1, duck. He was under heavy scrutiny for his poor show. But captain Rizwan and team management showed some faith in him and gave him another opportunity. He scored 32 from 14 balls, giving his team a very solid start. He was eventually dismissed by Imad Wasim, but his innings showed that he is here to perform.

3. Waqas Maqsood’s perfect yorker

Waqas Maqsood had a slightly bad day, but he did made a highlights for himself when he clean bowled Khushdil Shah with a perfect yorker that tailed back in. Nothing makes a better sight for fast bowlers when they bowl such deliveries.
