Quetta Gladiators (QG), one of the franchises of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), will be joyful to embrace renowned player, Shahid Afridi in their crew.
Recently, Afridi revealed his wish to play for Quetta as his statements revolved around the PSL fraternity. He added that would love to play his last PSL for Nadeem Omar-owned team.
Quetta Gladiators hopeful of welcoming Shahid Afridi in the crew
“We are hopeful that Shahid Afridi will be part of Quetta Gladiators in HBL PSL 7. We will be really happy if that happens,” said Omar.
“Afridi played a key part in the promotion of the Kashmir Premier League. Despite being unfit in the final, he fought hard and led his team to the title,” he added.
Notably, Afridi wore Multan Sultans jersey in PSL 6 but was pulled out in the midst after suffering a back injury during a training session. His team won its maiden PSL title under the remarkable leadership of Mohammad Rizwan.
It is pertinent to mention that team’s owner preferred to continue with Sarfaraz Ahmed as a captain despite Gladiators’ dull performance for last two years. It makes Afridi’s representation for the Purple Force under Sarfaraz certain.
