Quetta Gladiators’ captain, Sarfaraz Ahmed was due to leave for the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Monday but his departure has once again been canceled due to flight unavailability at Karachi Airport.
It is the second snag in a row as Sarfaraz and twenty-four others were left at Karachi and Lahore hotels due to visa clearance issues. Notably, the rest of the PSL crew departed for the UAE four days ago.
Sarfaraz has turned away from the airport by the officials to his home back a day back over clearance issues. However, he might fly to the venue tomorrow through one of the two flights as two international airlines from Karachi to Abu Dhabi via Bahrain and Doha.
Quetta Gladiators suffer another massive blow
According to the sources, the skipper tried to travel via his residence visa but the proposal was rejected by the UAE authorities. He will be now be traveling via a visit visa issued by the UAE.
Notably, the remainder of the HBL PSL 6 is most likely to resume by the first week of June, however, the revised schedule is yet to be officially revealed. The event was postponed earlier this year due to the multiple COVID breaches of the bio-bubble.
The PCB wanted to host the remaining matches in the National Stadium, Karachi but as per the demand of the franchises’ stakeholders, the board had to drag the extravaganza to the foreign venue amidst the COVID-19 surge in the cricket-loving nation.
The event will resume from the match fifteenth that is to be played between the PSL 5 runner ups, Lahore Qalandars, and the two times PSL champions, Islamabad United in Abu Dhabi.
