The world is ready to witness some big cricket action. World’s cash-rich T20 league, the Indian Premier League (IPL 2021), is set to hit the floors soon. This time, the Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to stay inside its own country rather than moving to the UAE or any other country.

As the IPL 2020 was entirely held in UAE amidst the poor COVID condition in India, the league was termed the Dubai Premier League – a sort of revenge from neighbors on hosting India’s own league outside the country.

When Pakistan organized their Pakistan Super League (PSL) in Dubai, the BCCI president Sourav Ganguly called PSL as Dubai Premier League. Hosting IPL 2020 in UAE gave Pakistanis a card to mock the Indians and the cricket board.

However, despite the rising COVID cases, the board did not give up on the league and wanted to host anyway. The same is the situation now. The Indian cricket board and IPL authorities are planning to organize their T20 league within the nation.

Which country is to host IPL 2021? As per the sources, MA Chidambaram Stadium Chennai Stadium is set to host the 60-match tournament that has tentatively been scheduled for 11th April and is expected to last till 6th June 2021. Though, the official schedule is yet to be released.

The two teams were also to be added this season but amidst less time and denial of other franchises contradicting mega-auction for adding two teams hastily have shifted this idea to the next two seasons.

Also, after the retention and releasing process has been coiled up, it is time for the player auction. The official tweet that was posted yesterday, revealed 18th January as the date for the IPL 2021 player auction.
