Revamped Narowal Sports Complex Set to Host National Cricket Team in Exhibition Match

Limited Time, Big Challenges: Pakistan's Push for Strong Asia Cup and World Cup Team

The multi-billion rupee Narowal Sports Complex is set to have its soft opening soon, with an exhibition cricket match featuring some of the country’s leading cricketers. According to a well-placed source, the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) officials have been asked to make the necessary arrangements for the opening to be conducted in a befitting manner.

An official confirmed that they had been instructed to make all the necessary arrangements for the soft opening of the project, which was supposed to be completed almost four years ago. The project, which had been handed over to NAB and FIA due to misappropriation cases during the previous PTI government, was given a clean chit by the current administration and is now heading for completion.

The previous government had made no efforts to complete the Rs4 billion project, which will now cost around Rs6 billion. For the last three years, there had been no up-gradation work on the site. However, the current administration is making efforts to revive the project and complete it as soon as possible.

Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal has announced plans to organise an exhibition cricket match after Eid, featuring national team members. He stated that the state-of-the-art facility had turned into a ghost place, but the up-gradation work has now restarted. Efforts are underway to organise the match on May 22, but a lot of work is still required to be done on the site.

Ahsan Iqbal visited the site to assess the progress of the project and has instructed concerned officials to visit the place and complete the cricket ground facilities at the earliest. With the soft opening of the Narowal Sports Complex, Pakistan will have yet another world-class sports facility to cater to the needs of athletes and sports enthusiasts.

The soft opening of the Narowal Sports Complex is a welcome development for the sports community in Pakistan. The exhibition cricket match featuring national team members will be a great opportunity to showcase the facility’s capabilities and attract more sports events to the area. The government’s efforts to revive the project and complete it as soon as possible are commendable, and we hope to see more such initiatives in the future.
