Rohit Sharma out of South Africa Tests, here is the replacement

Notably, the 34-year-old has been India’s leading run-getter in Tests in 2021. He is also one of the only two Indian batters who average over 40 in a minimum of 10 innings, Rishabh Pant being the other name.

According to reports, the Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) has named Priyank Panchal, the Gujarat-born player as an alternative.

Notably, it has been only a few days since he was appointed as the ODI skipper for the men in blue and will take charge of limited-over cricket for the team as the successor of Virat Kohli.

It is pertinent to mention that Sharma took over Ajinkya Rahane’s post of Test’s vice-captain after Rahane was seen struggling.
