In an endearing video message, Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt conveyed his greetings to Pakistani cricket legend Javed Miandad, who serves as the mentor for his team, B-Love Kandy, in the upcoming fourth edition of the Lanka Premier League (LPL). Dutt expressed his excitement about meeting Miandad in Kandy.
Addressing Miandad in the video shared on Twitter, Dutt said, “Javed Bhai Salam. I saw your video, we really enjoyed it. It was so good to see you after so long. Looking forward to meeting you in Kandy.”
Earlier this year, Dutt, along with his partners Omar Khan and H.H. Sheikh Marwan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, acquired ownership of the B-Love Kandy franchise. The team also boasts former Test cricketer Wasim Akram as a mentor, along with Miandad. The franchise is further supported by former Indian captain Azharuddin, while former Pakistani spinner Mushtaq Ahmed holds the role of head coach.
The team will be led by Sri Lankan spinner Wanindu Hasaranga in the tournament. The fourth season of LPL is scheduled to take place from July 30th to August 20th.
The squad for B-Love Kandy includes prominent players such as Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Fakhar Zaman, Angelo Mathews, Isuru Udana, Dinesh Chandimal, Mohammad Hasnain, and many more.
Additionally, there is a strong presence of Pakistani players across multiple teams in the LPL 2023. The list of Pakistan players in the league includes Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Hasnain, Asif Ali, Mohammad Haris, and Aamer Jamal representing B-Love Kandy, while Babar Azam, Naseem Shah, Wahab Riaz, Iftikhar Ahmed, and Mohammad Nawaz will be part of the Colombo Strikers. Shoaib Malik and Zaman Khan are set to play for the Jaffna Kings.
