As the sixth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 6) is underway, we have seen Quetta Gladiators as one of the two teams that have lost their back-to-back three encounters.
Out of three being played, the Sarfaraz Ahmed-led side has failed to manage in all three. What is the disturbing factor here?
We cannot blame the captaincy a lot. There are so many things that matter. Suffering Sarfaraz has been subjected to criticism since 2019 that is refraining him from his original form.
PSL 6: What should Sarfaraz do to win the games?
Although he scored big in the lastly played match against Zalmi but individual efforts often fail when the team denies performing.
Sarfaraz Ahmed came up with a mind-blowing inning of 81 runs on 40 balls whereas Azam Khan joined him with 47 runs off 26 balls. The duo dragged the team over 190 – the highest score of PSL 6 so far.
After he was sacked from the captaincy of all forms, he was subjected to mental pressure on behalf of a few performances. Sarfaraz was even removed from the squad.
Too many trolls led his morale down and PSL 2020 did not go well for his team either. Despite being back in the squad, Sarfaraz is yet to denote the international playing XI.
However, discussing PSL, this was the season he thought of making a glorious comeback but failed due to improper captaincy skills thundered under the mocks and depression.
The player should be rested mentally for a few days to prepare himself. His T20Is captaincy is not behind the windows as everyone witnessed how he led the Pakistan Cricket Team in earlier times.
Quetta Gladiators are now scheduled to play their next encounter against Islamabad United on 1st March at the National Stadium, Karachi under Sarfaraz Ahmed’s leadership.
