When will the schedule for PSL 6 remaining matches be announced?

The Pakistan Super League (PSL 6) is due to recommence in the first week of June as the event was called off shortly due to the multiple COVID-19 breaches earlier this year. It was expected to get coiled up in March but the mishaps did not allow the event to proceed ahead.

Looking for a feasible window, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) first chose Karachi, National Stadium as the preferred venue to begin the matches by 1st June. But, the idea was diminished by the PSL franchises’ stakeholders who understand that the current COVID surge in the country is not feasible to hold the remaining HBL PSL matches with the flow.

Hence, putting off the prior decisions, the PCB approached the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) to organize the remaining games in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). As ECB has got clarity from the UAE’s government, it has informed PCB about all the exemptions that allow the smooth running of PSL 6 in Abu Dhabi.

Now, the PCB-PSL awaits visa clearance so they can allow players to travel to the host nation. The players will undergo a mandatory quarantine period before the event programs ahead. As of now, the players are under quarantine in Karachi and Lahore hotels according to their close residence. Majority of them have cleared one COVID test and will be required to the second test in their rooms.

Once the board gets visa clearance, it will announce the schedule for the PSL 6 matches for the Abu Dhabi leg. It is expected to be on-screened this week.
