Shadab Khan to pay hefty fine

Shadab Khan, captain of Northern in the ongoing National T20 Cup, is charged with a heavy amount of fine for level 1 offence breaking the code of conduct of the game as he showed dissent during his team’s game on Friday.

The bowling all-rounder showed objection to the umpire’s decision as he called for a wide ball. He has been charged under article 2.8 of the PCB code of conduct for players and player support personnel. The article reads as:

 “showing dissent at an umpire’s decision during a match”.

Shadab accepted the sanction imposed by the match referee, Iftikhar Ahmed. The charge was levelled by the on-field umpires, Saqib Khan and Imtiaz Iqbal.

Notably, Shadab’s team is placed in the fourth position after winning 3 out of 5 encounters at a Net Run Rate of +0.280 and 6 points.
