Shahid Afridi congratulates new Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Shareef

Former Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi has congratulated Shehbaz Shareef, who has been appointed as the new Prime Minister of Pakistan, as the unwanted successor of Imran Khan.

Afridi took it to Twitter to congratulate the 23rd PM of Pakistan, hoping that Shehbaz would pull the nation out of the current economic and political crisis.

He wrote,

Congratulations to Shahbaz Sharif on being elected the 23rd Prime Minister of Pakistan and I hope that he will be able to use his best management skills to bring Pakistan out of the current economic and political crisis.

The Urdu translation of his tweet is as follows:

Afridi is getting nothing but bashes for writing a congratulatory post for Shehbaz. The PMLN party and its adjoined parties are currently the most hated people across Pakistan.

It must be noted the opposition parties gathered together and launched a no-confidence vote against Imran Khan. The former cricketer could not complete his 5-year tenure as a PM since the no-confidence vote constitution was approved by the National Assembly after denying it at first.

Following the National Assembly seats, either Shah Mehmood Qureshi or Shehbaz was the expected candidate to take over Khan’s regime, winning from NA votes. However, after Qureshi declared his unavailability, Shehbaz became the unwanted Prime Minister of Pakistan with zero struggle in paving the way.

Many resignations are coming from PTI’s end, and there will be a load of stepping down in the current week. It is expected after general elections will be held, Khan will bounce back with 2/3 seats next year.
