Shahid Afridi gets injured ahead of the PSL 6

Multan Sultans’ Shahid Afridi suffers an injury just a few days before the resumption of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 6). He revealed that during the training sessions ahead of the season, he felt lower back pain, hence, will not be rendering his services to the Sultans.

Afridi has been advised to rest until he is entirely comfortable. Sultans will be missing the Champion’s performances with the bat and leg-spin techniques with the bowl. He uttered his disappointment for not being part of the team anymore but wishes good luck to the blue-green men to clinch the trophy this year.

Shahid Afridi gets injured ahead of the PSL 6

“While training for the remainder of the HBL Pakistan Super League 6, I felt lower back pain and had to consult a doctor. Unfortunately, I have been advised to rest and can no longer accompany my team Multan Sultans for the Abu Dhabi leg.

“I am disappointed that I would be sitting out of the tournament, but my best wishes, support, and prayers are with the team to take the trophy.”

Notably, the PSL 6 was called off after winding up fourteen matches amidst the multiple COVID breaches. It is now to recommence by 1st June in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) after PCB has got clear exemptions.

It is pertinent to mention here that all of the matches will be played in Abu Dhabi as no more stadiums could entertain amidst the COVID-19 surge. It is to be noted that Lahore Qalandars and Islamabad United will lock the horns with each other in match 15 of the event.
