Shahid Afridi has something to say about Shaheen Afridi and Babar Azam

Shahid Afridi, the cricketer who has developed a legacy over the years across the world with his top-notch game and fan-full moments, has uttered some words about Pakistan’s key players, Babar Azam and Shaheen Shah Afridi.

Whilst talking about Shaheen, who is also Afridi’s son-in-law, the former player added he advised Shaheen not to accept the captaincy and focus on his bowling for at least two more years. As in the recent developments, Shaheen has been named skipper of the Lahore Qalandars for the seventh edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 7), Afridi had advised to turn it down but Shaheen accepted anyway.

Shaheen, visibly, was excited to take hold of the spot even before he was named the skipper. During the time when rumors revolved in regards, the pacer opened up saying he would adore taking charge. However, these rumors are no more only fabricated stories.

I had advised Shaheen Afridi to wait for a year or two before accepting captaincy so that he can focus more on his bowling but as he is also an Afridi, he didn’t listen to me,”

Born with leg-spin bowling tactics, the former power-hitter, whilst talking about the Pakistan cricket current captain, added he did not believe in Babar as a captain. He continued that Babar has proved him wrong with his recent individual, team leadership performances.

Team Pakistan enjoyed a great extravaganza during the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 staying unbeaten in the Super 12 round venture. Heading towards their next journey to compete Bangladesh in Test, t20I series, the green boys whitewashed the homies in both.

On flying back home to participate in the home series against West Indies, the men in green could not encounter the three-match ODI series following its cancelation due to COVID spread in the visitors camp. However, they were in the limelight of the three t20is clean sweeping the guests.

Apart from the team achievements, Babar has made several records in the calendar year. Also, to note, he has regained his top spot in the ICC T20I rankings for the batsmen with 805 points proving his critics wrong performing excellently whilst holding the full-time leadership duties.

Boom Boom added,
