Shahid Afridi tells why Ramiz Raja is necessary for PCB

Pakistan’s former cricketer, Shahid Afridi says that Ramiz Raja, who is likely to be the brand-new chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), is the only PCB chairman whom he has congratulated for taking over the spot.

It portrays Ramiz’s eligibility for the vacancy after Ehsan Mani has stepped down completing his 3-year contract with the board. Afridi believes in Ramiz’s honesty and says he has vast exposure working in the field for years with global players and commentating.

Ramiz, the former cricketer, is elected as the BOG member and will be stood up in the election with one of the nominees, Asad Ali Khan, to lift the vacancy officially. The PCB will soon on-screen its new chairperson once the succession process is completed.

Moreover, Afridi has advised Ramiz not to change the current PCB system as the new one takes time to get successfully implemented. Opening up on Shoaib Malik, Mohammad Hafeez’s selection, the bowling all-rounder added that Raja will have to keep his personal conflicts aside and deciding in the best interests of Pakistan Cricket.

“At such a position, you have to put your personal interest aside and think for Pakistan. As far as Malik and Hafeez are concerned, so I think they are currently the need of the Pakistan team.”

“Ramiz Bhai is a sensible man with good vision. Only, he needs to bring sincere people who can work for the betterment and not their personal interest,”

Notably, the veteran duo’s selection seems doubtful to cricket devotees under Raja’s rule that looks a bit conscious about playing aged players in the national crew.
