Shoaib AKhtar announces his biopic

Former Pakistani Cricketer Shoaib Akhtar has announced the launch of his biopic. Known as Rawalpindi Express for his fearful and bouncy bowling, the ex-bowler has decided to name his biopic as “Rawalpindi Express – Running After the Odds”.

Akhtar took it to Twitter to announce the news, saying a movie will be produced describing the journey of his life. Akhtar’s movie will be the first ever on a Pakistani athlete by an international star.

He penned out,

Beginning of this beautiful journey. Announcing the launch of my story, my life, my Biopic, “RAWALPINDI EXPRESS – Running against the odds” You’re in for a ride you’ve never taken before. First foreign film about a Pakistani Sportsman. Controversially yours, Shoaib Akhtar

Every cricket fan anticipates the movie on Akhtar, which is all set to be released on 16th November 2023. He has hinted at a superstar playing his role in this biopic.

Akhtar, the fastest of all bowlers, bowled the fastest delivery speeding 161.3 kph in a cricket match against England’s Nick Knight. It is not the only time when Akhtar crossed 100 mph speed whilst bowling but did so twice more against New Zealand.

Starting his Test career in 1997, the Rawalpindi Express has gathered 178 wickets from 46 Tests winding up his career in 2007. Mentioning his ODI career, which lasted from 1998 to 2011, the ex-bowler amassed 247 wickets from 163 games.
