Pakistan tours of England and West Indies: A golden opportunity for Sohaib Maqsood

Peshawar Zalmi’s players, Haider Ali and Umaid Asif have been pulled out of the squad ahead of the PSL 2021 final as the duo breached the COVID-19 bio bubble. Violating the protocols and failing to meet the guidelines, the Zalmi players failed to maintain social distance meeting people outside the bio-bubble.

The decision to suspend the Zalmi players has been taken by the PSL 2021 COVID-19 management panel comprising COO PCB and Director Commercial. According to the PCB’s Thursday release, Haider and Umaid did not meet any other member from the Zalmi squad and have been ordered for isolation.

The matters are even worst for Haider who has been pulled out of the pre-elected national squad for Pakistan tours of England and West Indies. The chairman of the selection committee, Wasim Khan has named in-form Sohaib Maqsood of Multan Sultans in place of Haider for the two tours.
