Sohaib Maqsood, the Pakistani batsman, was missing from the international field for a long span. After showcasing their brilliant performances in the Pakistan Super League (PSL 6), he has got a call back from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) ahead of his inclusion in the national squad.
During the PSL 6, Haider Ali of Peshawar Zalmi was pulled out of the extravaganza along with his elimination from the national squad. Considering the tough challenges bizarre by the Pakistan tour of England and West Indies, the board had to look for the replacement and found none better than Sohaib.
Sohaib Maqsood speaks ahead of his inclusion in the national squad
The player was already optimistic about getting a national call, and his dream came true ahead of his batting tactics for Multan Sultans. Today, Maqsood was summoned by the board for the press conference ahead of his big-time returns. He says that he is ready to play at any position for the national team.
“A player batting at your position in international cricket has right to bat there. It’s not necessary to bat at the same spot as him. I have batted lower down the order in PSL too and have performed. For team whichever number I am asked to play, I’ll be available and try to give my hundred percent,”
Moreover, he uttered that he was ‘fearless’ while playing domestic cricket and will implement the same things towards international programs.
“My mindset was fearless in domestic cricket and I will look to play in the same manner. There would be no regret if I’m unable to perform and it won’t affect my life too. The chances of performing with a fearless mind would be more rather than playing with a fear,”
