Sophie Devine creates a history, smashes the fastest T20 hundred in women cricket
Sophie Devine has broken all the previous records in the Women T20 cricket as she has smashed the fastest T20 hundred in the ongoing Women’s Super Smash.
Playing for the Wellington Blaze on Thursday, the player smashed a 36-ball ton. Previously, the record was owned by West Indies’ Deandra Dottin who smashed a 38-ball hundred against South Africa in 2010.
Sophies’ record has also been the fastest for New Zealand as she beat Tim Seifert’s 40-ball efforts for the Northern District in 2017 in Mount Maunganui.
She also became the first cricketer to smash five consecutive T20I fifties back in February 2020. Then, she surpassed Mithali Raj, Brendon McCullum, and Chris Gayle who had had four consecutive fifty-plus scores
