South Africa women's tour of Pakistan: Proteas' squad revealed

The forthcoming tour of Pakistan, slated for September, has prompted the announcement of the South Africa women’s cricket team squad. This series, comprising three T20Is and a trio of ODIs, is slated to take place in Karachi during the upcoming month.

A total of 12 players who contributed to the team’s memorable T20 World Cup campaign have secured a spot in the squad. Notably, Sune Luus will not retain her leadership role, as a fresh captain for the Proteas will soon be revealed.

Chloe Tryon, a key player, will be absent from the squad as she has sought a leave of absence. Furthermore, Annerie Derckson will be unavailable to face the Green Shirts due to an ongoing finger injury.

On a positive note, there’s potential for wicketkeeper Mieke de Ridder to make her international debut, as she has received a call-up. Even Nondumiso Shangase, an all-rounder who last played for her side in 2021, is part of the squad.
