Sri Lanka Cricket Team has surpassed Pakistan Cricket Team in the ICC World Test Championship 2021-23 with its recent victory against Bangladesh. The men in green, who were placed in the fourth spot, have been slipped down to one spot, becoming the fifth-ranked team on the table.
Dimuth Karunaratne and co are now the fourth-ranked team on the ICC World Test Championship 2021-23 points table with 40 points and a winning percentage of 55.56. They won the second test to seal the two-match series by 1-0 as the first game between the parties was drawn.
Sri Lanka surpass Pakistan in ICC World Test Championship 2021-23
Discussing Pakistan’s performances in Test cricket recently, they have not been up to the mark including the 1-0 series defeat versus Australia recently. Pak vs Aus Test series saw three matches, out of which, two ended in a draw.
Notably, Australia is the first-ranked team with 72 points and a winning percentage of 75. South Africa and India are the next in line with 60 and 77 points respectively and the win percentages of 71.43, and 58.33.
The upcoming fixtures of the tournament include England vs New Zealand three-match series to begin on 2nd June, West Indies vs Bangladesh two-match series to begin on 16th June, and Sri Lanka vs Australia two-match series to begin on 29th June.
On 1st July, India and England will encounter the fifth Test match, which was cancelled on September 10th in the wake of the COVID hit in the Indian camp. Later, England will tackle South Africa in a three-match series to start on 17th August.
