T10 League: Day 2 Match Reports

The second day of Abu Dhabi T10 League has come to an end. The Day 2 of T10 League saw some fine performances with both bat and ball and fans from all around the world watched the live stream of T10 League tournament.

Two matches from Group B, Pune Devils vs Qalandars and Deccan Gladiators vs Team Abu Dhabi, along with one match from Group A, Maratha Arabians vs Delhi Bulls were played today. Take a look at each game’s match reports on the second day of T10 League.

Match 4: Pune Devils vs Qalandars, Group B

Playing their first match today, Qalandars won the toss and elected to bowl first. They had an early success in getting the wicket of Devils’ star performer last night, Kennar Lewis for 3. But Tom Kohler and Darwish Rasooli paired up together and took their team to 107-2. Tom Kohler ended with 54. Qalandars’ star bowlers were Sultan Ahmed (1-12) and Chris Jordan (1-16).

It was a very sweet chase for Qalandars. They only lost Tom Banton, who scored 45 from 18 balls, in the opening stand of 52 in 3.2 overs. Sharjeel Khan (28*) and captain Sohail Akhtar (33*) took their side to comfortable victory by 9 wickets and three overs remaining. A big chase indeed.

Match 5: Maratha Arabians vs Delhi Bulls, Group A

Delhi Bulls won the toss and elected to ball first. An incredible bowling spell from Amad Butt, who picked a wicket and conceded just seven runs in two overs, restricted the defending champions Maratha Arabians to below par 87-4.

The Bulls lost their previous night star player Rahmanullah Gulbaz for 4, but Evin Lewis (55*) and Ravi Bopara (28*) carried their team to victory. They chased 88 down with five overs to spare. This saw the massive drop in Maratha Arabians NRR in points table.

Match 6: Deccan Gladiators vs Team Abu Dhabi, Group B

Deccan Gladiators won the toss and elected to field first. Abu Dhabi were playing their first match in this T10 League. However, despite having star performers at the top in Chris Gayle, Paul Stirling and Ben Duckett, all three of them failed and TAB were 22-3. Luke Wright (25) and Joe Clarke (21) made some late scorings but wickets continued to fall. In the end, Team Abu Dhabi ended with 95-9. Zahoor Khan (3-13) and Imtiaz Ahmed (2-8) were pick of the bowlers for Gladiators.

Mohammad Shahzad (21), Cameron Delport (40) and Kieron Pollard (24) started off the chase very well. However, Jamie Overton, who picked Shahzad, Pollard and Azam Khan, bowled tight bowling to bring the match in the last overs. 2 runs were required in 3 balls but Sunil Narine wasted no time and smashed the winning runs to give Gladiators their first win this T10 season.
