T20 World Cup 2022: Can rain affect Ind vs Pak match?

All the craze of cricket fans was drowned when they heard Sunday’s weather predictions for Melbourne, Australia, destroying the high-voltage clash. The weather predictors had been showing high chances of cloud bursts, which as a consequence, could have washed away everyone’s favourite, the India vs Pakistan clash of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022.

The two teams are all set to open their event’s respective journeys of the Super 12 versus each other at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). All the hype the fans have been gathering from the days to finally enjoy the wholesome cricketing moments on 23rd October could have been ruined within minutes.

However, with the latest update shown by the Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology, the chances of rain have been reduced to 70%. Earlier, they were touching the climax with a 90% chance, showing rain in the majority of the hours of the day. It indeed would have washed the play.

The fans are happy to see a slight decrease in the rain chances. There are no guarantees yet that the match hours will not be affected by the cloud burst in Melbourne. As per the rules of the International Cricket Council (ICC) regarding rain, both sides should play five overs in order to constitute a match.
