The former Pakistan badminton champion, Tania Malik, has been appointed as the head of Women Cricket in the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). The news was revealed in an official press conference held on Thursday.
Tania will kick-start her role as Pakistan Women Cricket Team’s head from 1st October. She has taken over the regime of Urooj Mumtaz, who left her post during May to focus more on selection responsibilities. Moreover, according to the PCB’s policies, no single person can uphold two different positions within the circle.
Notably, Tania got her masters degree from LUMS university. She has represented Pakistan in the 1986 Seoul Asian games. Also, she became the national champion in 1987-88.
It is pertinent to mention that Tania Malik is also the vice-president of the Punjab squash association and Punjab Olympic association since 2010. Her achievements do not end here as she also is looking after Pakistan Olympic Association Education and Women’s commissions.
Besides working for multinational organizations, she has experienced working on World Bank Women Development Projects.
