Sachin Tendulkar talks about India playing 1000th ODI

Next One-Day International Team India will undergo mark the history. In the opener of Ind vs WI, India will be playing their 1000th ODI becoming the first nation to do so. Surely, men in blue will want to open the day with an empathic win. The historic match will take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on February 6.

Former Indian Cricketer Sachin Tendulkar has termed the historic occasion as a ‘huge milestone’ for the entire nation and the national team. The greatest cricketer recalled his first appearance in ODIs in 1974 and applauded the further players serving India with greatness, especially loading the fans with praises.

To share his feelings, he talked on his website 100 MB.

“India playing the 1000th ODI is a huge milestone. The first ODI was played in 1974, it was only possible because of the past cricketers, current cricketers, the past and current board members. And not to forget the most important people, our Indian cricket team well-wishers, from the past generations and the ones who are today with us,”

“I want to say it is an achievement for all of us and the entire nation should be proud of this and hope Indian cricket continues to grow from strength to strength. I wish them all the very best for the coming series and especially for the 1000th ODI,”

Speaking of Tendulkar’s career, he has featured in 200 Tests, 463 ODIs, and the only T20I, retiring with a legacy of 15921, 18426, and 10 runs sequentially.

Quoting an interesting fact, a user typed,

Sachin Tendulkar has been part of India’s 200th, 300th, 400th, 500th, 600th, 700th and 800th ODI. India played their 100th ODI before Sachin’s debut, 900th and now 1000th ODI after his retirement.
