The ICC World Cup 2023, featuring the high-stakes India-Pakistan match, has set the cricketing world on fire with ticket prices soaring to unprecedented heights. On August 29 and September 3, fans rushed to official outlets, resulting in a complete sell-out within just one hour.
However, according to a recent report by NDTV, the secondary market is still ablaze with exorbitant ticket prices. For instance, a South Premium West Bay ticket, originally priced reasonably, is currently listed at an astonishing ₹19.5 lakh on Viagogo, an online sports ticket platform. Even more staggering, only two upper-tier tickets with unobstructed views remain, and they’re being peddled for an astonishing ₹57 lakh each.
The ICC World Cup 2023 is poised to be a historic event, with 10 teams vying for the coveted title across 10 prestigious venues. The tournament kicks off at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, where the final showdown will also take place.
Mark your calendars for October 14, when the much-anticipated India-Pakistan match is scheduled to take place in Ahmedabad. The day matches will commence at 10:00 AM Pakistan Standard Time (PST), while all others will be day-night fixtures starting at 01:30 PM (PST).
Should Pakistan secure a spot in the semi-finals, they’ll face off in Kolkata. On the flip side, if India advances, they’ll compete in Mumbai unless their opponent happens to be Pakistan, in which case the showdown will unfold in Kolkata.
The tournament format embraces a round-robin structure, where all 10 teams will lock horns in 45 league matches. The top four teams emerging from this crucible will secure their places in the semi-finals, set to unfold in Mumbai on November 15 and in Kolkata on November 16. Rest assured, both the semi-finals and the final will have reserve days, adding an extra layer of drama and excitement to this thrilling cricketing spectacle.
