Royal Challengers Bangalore against Pune Warriors, IPL 2013:
IPL 2013 was the first season when the Royal Challengers Bangalore were playing under Virat Kohli’s leadership. The captain and the co came up with numerous inspiring performances but failed to clinch the trophy.
Many records were registered by the RCB, who were yet to win an IPL title and the hunt still continues. Chris Gayle, the West Indies-based terrific batsman, registered his highest score of the T20 format that still remains his highest and among the IPL history too.
Nobody has crossed the Universe Boss is making 175 runs that came against the Pune Warriors in IPL 2013. Then, RCB had the highest IPL history score that still remains the highest in the 14-year old long tenure.
Playing at the Bengaluru Stadium vs Warriors, RCB registered 163 runs losing only 5 wickets on 120 balls with the help of Gayle’s unbeaten 175. The 8-year old record of Chris Gayle is still top on the list of highest individual scores in IPL.
Not only this but seeing overall twenty-twenty cricket records, Gayle’s 175 vs Warriors stays the first as Finch’s 172 vs Zimbabwe comes next.
Here is the video:
RCB won that encounter by a huge margin of 130 runs as Warriors fell short of wickets and balls on just 133 runs. Although they had the tenth man in hand to chase, 264 runs on 120 balls were not a piece of cake.
Royal Challengers Bangalore against Gujrat Lions, IPL 2016:
The second-highest score in the history of IPL once again belongs to the Kohli-led Bangalores. AB De Villiers, the South African RCB-owned batsman, stunned, registering his second-highest score in the IPL history.
He smashed 129, staying not out in the Bengaluru stadium as RCB commenced to face the Gujrat Lions in IPL 2016. The team total on batting first was 248, but the Lions could not bear it up as they lose the struggle on 104 runs.
Kohli was the next top-scorer from RCB after De Villiers as he slammed 109 runs on just 55 balls. As usual, the RCB captain rotated bowlers, and as many as ten bowlers delivered the 20 overs.
The strategy worked out luckily as Chris Jordan, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Sachin Baby remained supercilious with four, three, and two wicket-hauls sequentially. Aravind could pick one while the remaining bowlers contributed with T20 supported economies.
Notably, Kohli was the player with the highest economy as he bowled an over, conceding an economy of 13.00 as a result of two no-balls.
