
U19 India have clinched their 8th title of the U19 Asia Cup overpowering U19 Sri Lanka in the final of the event battled at Dubai DSC on Friday.
The boys in blue took over the Sri Lankas by nine wickets with the assistance of the D/L method in the rain-affected final finishing 2021 with cheering memories.
Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat first. It turned out to be an extremely low-scoring final as Dimuth Wellalage and co added 106 runs losing eight wickets in 38 overs after a cat and dog effect.
Vicky Ostwal shined with a three-wicket haul, whereas, Kaushal Tambe picked two.
It was an easy chase for Yash Dhull and men as they did it 21.3 overs sparing 63 balls winning the trophy by nine wickets.
Angkrish Raghuvanshi’s knock off56 off 67 took them over a half-way mark. Harnoor Singh got departed on 5. Later, Shaikh Rasheed contributed with 31 off 49 celebrating on the ground with the opener, Angkrish, being moments away from lifting their 8th U19 Asia Cup trophy.
Twitter is all praises for the youngsters. Sourav Ganguly, the president of the Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) also posted complimentary words. It must be noted that India could not beat the arch-rivals Pakistan during the contest.
