
The Qasim Akram-led U19 Pakistan have overpowered Yash Dhull’s U19 India in the match 5th of the ongoing ACC U19 Asia Cup. The match took place at Ground 2 of ICC Academy in Dubai.
Akram and co won the toss and elected to field first. They yielded a target of 241 runs to chase as Dhull’s batters slammed 240 losing 8 wickets.
India’s side efforts included Harnoor Singh’s 46 off 59, Aradhya Yadav’s50 off 83, and some average contributions from Raja Bawa, Kaushal Tambe, and Rajvardhan Hangargekar.
Zeeshan Zameer’s courtesy of five wickets undoubtedly helped Pakistan steal the victory. The bowler delivered 10 overs yielding 60 runs. Apart from Zameer, Awais Ali grabbed two wickets, whereas, Maaz Sadaqat and the captain clutched one apiece.
Pakistan, on stepping to chase, witnessed Ahmed Khan keeping his cool to score a four on the last ball thriller with two runs needed, taking the team to the second consecutive win of the marquee event.
The boys in green saw Muhammad Shahzad slamming 81 off 105. The rest of the batters similarly contributed standardly.
India’s all-rounder, Bawa was the top wicket-taker from their end gathering a four-wicket haul conceding 56 runs.
The Pakistan Cricketing fraternity is thrilled to see their boys winning versus the arch-rivals. It is not the only occasion the fans are celebrating as in the recent developments, Pakistan Men’s National Team overpowered Virat Kohli’s India brutally in the Super 12 game of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021.
