Update on PSL 7 crowd in Lahore leg

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has requested National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) to allow 50% crowd in the Lahore leg of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 7).

Due to rise in COVID cases across Pakistan, NCOC allowed 25% of the spectators in the league’s first phase going on at the National Stadium Karachi. However, the board now wants 2x of the current seating capacity in the final phase.

The decision regarding crowd allowance at the Gadaffi Stadium was yet to be taken. As of now, the PCB is optimistic that NCOC will allow 50% spectators in the Lahore leg of PSL 7. NCOC’s take on the matter will be announced in two days.

Lahore Leg will kick-start from 10th February as Peshawar Zalmi and the table-toppers Multan Sultans will lock horns with each other.

In the recent developments, it was assumed that the leftover matches too will be played at the NSK amidst the security concerns but Gadaffii’s management is all set to embrace the national league.

Also, the security plane for Lahore matches has been developed by the police according to which snipers will be launched on the rooftop of the provincial capital.

According to the security plan, senior officers and officials of various units of Lahore Police including SSP, SDPOs, SHOs, Dolphin Squad, Police Response Unit and Elite Force would conduct security, patrolling and traffic management duties during the matches to ensure foolproof security of the event along with the smooth flow of traffic.

The purpose of installing snipers is to keep an eye on every moment happening across.
