Wahab v Shaheen: The Battle of two Pacers in PSL

wahab vs shaheen in psl

The Pakistan Super League PSL season 7 matches are getting exciting by the day and today will be no different as two Pakistan ace pacers will battle it out to win the ninth match of the tournament.

Lahore Qalandars and Peshawar Zalmi will face-off in the National Stadium Karachi NSK, their eyes on the second win of the tournament. Lahore and Peshawar franchises have played two matches each, winning only one.

A look at the previous encounters between the two teams in PSL history shows the yellow storm to be the dominating side winning eight out of 13 clashes while the Qalandars have still a lot of work to do to level up with them. However, the previous edition saw Lahore Qalandars being on top of Zalmi’s side winning both the matches against them.

Shaheen the first-time skipper is off to a good start with his team. In the last outing of the franchise, they won against Karachi Kings in a close match. Fakhar’s outstanding one-man show helped the team cross the line.

Wahab Riaz on the other hand will be looking to redeem themselves after a horrendous loss against Islamabad where his bowlers were hit all over the ground. Even though they had won the first PSL match, the team still looked lacking in fielding and bowling which did not show any improvement in the second match.

Tonight’s match will be another close call as the 2017 champions seek to reclaim the lost momentum while Shaheen and co search for opportunities to further strengthen their grip on the maiden PSL trophy.

On the points table, Qalandars sit on position four and Peshawar Zalmi on position five, the only difference lies in the Net  Run Rate NRR.
