Since Mohammad Amir has indefinitely retired from Pakistan Cricket due to his conflicts with the current Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) management, there has been vast criticism for the pacer. Despite critics in a big line, he still gets the massive support of many. Among ‘many’, the name of the former cricketer, Wasim Akram is notable.
Akram believes Amir is an experienced bowler hence, he should be part of the team ahead of the big event, ICC T20 World Cup 2021. Notably, the pacer pulled himself out of the team saying he is mentally tortured by Waqar Younis and Misbah ul Haq.
The former Pakistani player said that a lot of players go through the fuss and demands justice for Amir considering wrong has been done with Amir. He says there is nothing wrong with his indefinite leave he took after the birth of his child.
Wasim Akram reveals a big thing about Mohammad Amir
“I am very surprised because Amir is a very experienced bowler and one of the best in the world in T20 cricket. Personally, I think he should be in Pakistan’s World T20 squad,”
He believes that what Amir has done, has been a part of many cricketer’s tenures but no one has uttered criticism on them. Consequently, he questions, why Amir?
“Other players have done it but no one says anything about them. So why Amir? I think if he is available for other formats he should be playing for Pakistan.”
Akram further added that Amir can be beneficial for Pakistan in guiding the junior bowlers ahead of the T2 World Cup.
“In World Cup events you need experienced bowlers who can also advise and guide the younger bowlers,”
