'FAKE'! Wasim Akram slams Indian media

Pakistan’s renowned former bowler, Wasim Akram has rubbished Indian media’s news as the reliable channel that claimed Wasim’s interests in becoming the new PCB chairman (Pakistan Cricket Board).

The well-known verified source, Times of India posted on their social forums that Akram was quite interested in the chairman’s vacancy but could not get the post.

Wasim, in reply, bashed the Indian media saying that such a credible news channel should not spread fake news. He added that he was never interested in the post and is fully satisfied with what he currently holds.

After being publicly slammed, the TOI removed the post ahead of Wasim’s fuming reply. The tweet was once seen but has been made unavailable as the Pakistani fans still try to look at the offensive reply to mock them further.

He wrote,

Please stop spreading such fake news. Get your sources right.TOI is one of India’s top and credible newspapers and such baseless news can only hurt that image.PCB chairman’s post is a specialized job and I was never interested in it. Thank God, I am content where I am in my life.

Notably, PCB chairman is the current trending topic in Pakistan’s cricketing fraternity. Ramiz Raja, the former cricketer and now the commentator, has been elected for the post and will officially take over the chair as Ehsan Mani’s tenure has been terminated.

Before upholding the designation, Raja will stand in the election on 13th September with Asad Ali Khan, a member of BOG. Currently, Raja also is the BOG member as the succession process proceeds. Till then, the CEO of PCB, Wasim Khan will look after the duties.
