New jersey for team india, WTC 2023 final

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has partnered with sports brand Adidas to create new jersey for the national cricket team across all formats.

The new kit was recently revealed on Adidas’ social media platforms, with the Indian players already donning the revamped Test jersey during their training sessions in preparation for the ICC Test Championship final against Australia at The Oval.

Scheduled from June 7-11 in London, India, the finalists of the inaugural Test Championship, will face off against Australia. The championship carries a total prize purse of $3.8 million, with the winning team receiving $1.6 million and the runners-up taking home $800,000, consistent with the previous edition won by New Zealand in 2021.

The prize distribution further sees South Africa claiming $450,000 for securing third place, while England, who made a late surge and finished fourth, will be awarded $350,000. Sri Lanka, narrowly missing out on a spot in the final, finished fifth and will receive $200,000.

The remaining teams – New Zealand, Pakistan, West Indies, and Bangladesh – will each receive a reward of $100,000 for their participation.

India’s formidable squad, led by Rohit Sharma, includes Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane, Ravindra Jadeja, KS Bharat (wk), Shardul Thakur, Mohammad Shami, Mohammed Siraj, and Umesh Yadav. Pat Cummins will captain the Australian team, featuring players like Scott Boland, Alex Carey, Cameron Green, Marcus Harris, Josh Hazlewood, Travis Head, Josh Inglis, Usman Khawaja, Marnus Labuschagne, Nathan Lyon, Mitchell Marsh, Todd Murphy, Matthew Renshaw, Steve Smith (vice-captain), Mitchell Starc, and David Warner.

As the Indian team gears up for the highly anticipated Test Championship final, the collaboration between BCCI and Adidas brings a fresh visual identity to the squad, reflecting their commitment to excellence and a new era of cricketing success.
