Do you know? West Indies have not won any ODI series vs Pakistan in 31 years

The West Indies Cricket Team arrived in Pakistan on Monday to participate in a three-match ODI series, starting from 8th June. The ODI series is part of the West Indies tour of Pakistan 2021, which was cancelled following the COVID hit on the men in the maroon’s camp.

Initially, the Pak vs WI ODI series was scheduled to be played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, but the current political situation in the country’s capital forced the PCB to shift the venue to Multan. As of now, three ODIs will take place on 8th, 10th, and 12th June respectively at Multan Cricket Stadium. It must be noted that Multan, known as the city of Saints, will host an international cricket match after a long gap of 14 years.

The guests were warmly welcomed with flowers and are provided presidential security. They will be battling the hosts to win their first-ever ODI series in 31 years against them. One of the interesting facts about the Pak vs WI ODI series is that the West Indies are struggling to register their maiden ODI series win versus Pakistan in the last three decades.

It was 1991 when the men in maroon thrashed the men in green led by Imran Khan in the 50-over series under the captaincy of Richie Richardson. Thereafter, the West Indies cricket team never got any chance to defeat the Pakistan Cricket Team in the One-Day Internationals.

The historic tour marks the chance for the visitors to break the 31-year old streak. To note, Pakistan and West Indies have faced each other in 134 matches in ODI. Out of these 134 games, Pakistan have won 60, however, West Indies lead the chart winning on 71 occasions despite losing the series for straight 31 years.
